Defensive Barriers

Assembling a defensive barrier unit requires unrolling it and filling it with sand, soil or gravel, usually using a front-end loader.

The placement of the barrier is usually very similar to the placement of a sandbag barrier or earthen embankment, except that space must usually be left for the equipment used to fill the barrier. The main advantage of defensive barriers is that they are quick and easy to set up, which has greatly contributed to their popularity among troops and flood fighters. Previously, people had to fill sandbags, which was a slow job, with one worker filling about 20 sandbags per hour. Workers using defensive barriers and front-end loaders have ten times the workload of workers using sandbags.
